Find out who you are at roots roadshow

VISITORS looking for their roots will for the first time be able to get on-the-spot advice from genealogy experts to help them discover exactly who they are.

Arts Minister Jimmy Deenihan launched the Genealogy Roadshow in Killarney, Co Kerry, yesterday, that will help people search the county's registers of births, deaths and marriages as well the internet to find out more about their ancestors.

Working out of a mobile unit, experts will travel to different festivals and events organised as part of The Gathering, where the service will be easily accessible to overseas visitors.

It will be in Kenmare for the food carnival today and in Knightstown tomorrow for the Valentia Island King Scallop Festival. A full schedule of the Genealogy Roadshow is available on
