The country looks set to enjoy a mild weekend at the end of a mostly grey and gloomy week.

The month so far has been extremely changeable with plenty of unseasonable cold.

This will now change to more humid conditions, with Met Éireann predicting temperatures above 20C.

Forecaster Siobhán Ryan said that temperatures would range between 14C and 21C over the weekend.

She said tonight would be cloudy with maybe a few scattered outbreaks of rain and temperatures of between 10C and 11C. Winds will be light south-west breezes.

"Sunday will be a bit cooler, but still reasonably mild and dry," she said.
