Fianna Fail to keep name
FIANNA Fail leader Micheal Martin ruled out any name change for his battered party yesterday.
He is currently concluding his nationwide tour of constituencies to explore ways to revitalise the party -- but dropping the name it has kept since 1926 will not be one of them.
Mr Martin said that the idea had come out of a working group during the party's private meeting in Dublin's Louis Fitzgerald Hotel last Monday.
"It didn't get any discussion at the plenary session or any elaboration beyond that, so it's not under consideration," he revealed.
"There's absolutely a future for Fianna Fail," he added.
