The film, featuring Councillor Tom Neville (40) in the lead role, will have its premier in Rathkeale this Saturday.

The movie, 'Colour of Forgiveness', will be entered in international film festivals and will be subtitled in Spanish and Polish.

"It's about a couple who fall out at their wedding, and the character I play gets ditched at the altar," Cllr Neville explained. "I'm excited about it, and I can't wait to see the reaction to it locally," he said.

Cllr Neville, a son of outgoing TD Dan Neville, said he got a "mostly positive reaction" with some "raised eyebrows" at his acting.
