FG backbench TDs push for cabinet reshuffle
AMBITIOUS Fine Gael backbenchers are putting pressure on Taoiseach Enda Kenny to reshuffle his junior ministers in the autumn, writes Michael Brennan.
Mr Kenny has ruled out a cabinet reshuffle this year but some are hopeful that he is going to shake up the ranks.
They are complaining privately that the age profile is out of step with the average profile of the party.
One Fine Gael TD predicted that there would be changes after the EU presidency is concluded at the end of this month.
But one of the junior ministers told the Irish Independent that Mr Kenny was far more likely to wait until after next year's local elections.
