FIANNA Fail has called on the Government to publish reports into the running of Irish Nationwide after details emerged of lax lending practices at the building society run for decades by Michael Fingleton.
An RTE documentary outlined the details of a confidential report into the building society by accountancy firm Ernst & Young after Mr Fingleton resigned as chief executive in 2009.
Fianna Fail finance spokes-man Michael McGrath said: "Based on last night's documentary, the Ernst & Young report in particular appears to present a devastating picture of the practices that prevailed in Irish Nationwide."
He added: "No one has been held accountable for the practices that were allowed to persist there."
