FF man 'sorry' for unpaid tax

A VETERAN Fianna Fail councillor and auctioneer has publicly apologised over a €778,416 tax settlement with the Revenue Commissioners.

Councillor Dan Fleming featured on the Revenue Commissioner's tax defaulters list published this week.

He is a long-standing member of Cork County Council and one of FF's longest-serving local authority members.

Yesterday, Mr Fleming said "sorry" and claimed he was astounded by the amount involved. The settlement was comprised of €515,351 in unpaid taxes and €263,065 in interest and penalties.
