Festive shoppers get headstart at crafts fair
A sense of patriotism, a 10pc discount and a dazzling array of Irish-made handcrafted gifts had Christmas shoppers in their droves yesterday at Dublin's RDS.
The occasion was the opening of the National Crafts and Design Fair. The fair, now in its 28th year, was packed with shoppers looking for unique Irish-made gifts among the 500 stalls selling everything from handcrafted bowls made from 225-year-old wood to bespoke jewellery, artisan food products, handwoven scarves and beeswax candles.
Our picture by Jason Clarke shows Nadia Stewart from Bangor, Co Down, at the fair, which runs until Sunday.
