Female cyclist rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by truck

A female cyclist been rushed to hospital after being hit by a truck while cycling in Dublin city.

The incident happened at Grand Parade in Dublin 6, at the junction of Charlemont Bridge, shortly after noon.

The cyclist, aged 39, was rushed to St James’s Hospital with multiple leg injuries following the collision.

It is understood that the cyclist's injuries are serious but not life-threatening and that she was conscious when emergency services arrived on scene.

Dublin Fire brigade dispatched paramedics and a fire appliance to the scene.

A technical and forensic examination of the scene has been completed by garda forensic collision investigators and the road has been reopened to traffic.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
