Female cyclist killed after colliding with articulated truck

A CYCLIST has been killed after being involved in a collision with an articulated lorry this morning.

The collision happened outside the Hunt Museum at the junction of Rutland Street, Fr Matthew Bridge and the Dublin Road in Limerick City at 7.30am.

"The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene," a garda spokesman said.

"Her body has been removed to the Mid Western Regional Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place."

It is understood that the driver of the truck was not injured.
