Fears for 400 jobs at Lufthansa Technik as company considers its future in Rathcoole
FEARS are growing for job losses Lufthansa Technik Airmotive plant in Rathcoole, Co Dublin after the company said it is considering its options for the future of the plant.
The 411 staff at the plant were called to a meeting today where they were informed that the company will enter into negotiations with representatives of staff from Monday.
The aircraft maintenance company is a subsidiary of German firm Lufthansa Technik AG - the maintenance repair and overhaul arm of Lufthansa German Airlines.
It was founded by Aer Lingus in 1980 but became part of the Lufthansa Technik group in 1997.
More recently a dispute is ongoing between staff over the funding of a pension deficit.
