Fears for 100 furniture firm jobs

THE future of more than 100 employees of a large furniture retail chain remains uncertain after it closed the doors to its 20 shops across the country.

Cost Plus Sofas had previously announced that it would restructure its operations across Ireland.

The company has blamed the economic downturn and a reduction in consumer spending for the decision to examine its operations.

Online customers were greeted by a public notice reassuring them that all outstanding orders, contracts and agreements would be honoured, completed and delivered as agreed.
