The fashion police swooped to recover an €800 dress stolen from a boutique – while it was being worn to Listowel Races ladies' day by the fashion-conscious thief.

The distinctive stocking dress with Swarovski crystals had been stolen from Jasmine in Tralee, Co Kerry, earlier this month.

Jasmine owners Diane Jeffers and her husband Dan Nolan launched a Facebook campaign asking people to contact them if they saw anyone wearing it.
