A POST-mortem examination is to be carried out today on the skeletal remains of a woman found in undergrowth in a west Dublin park, writes Edel O'Connell.
A preliminary examination was completed yesterday by State Pathologist Professor Marie Cassidy and the remains were then removed to the city morgue in Marino.
Michael Gavan, the brother of Bernie Gavan, who went missing on August 19, 2007, says he hopes the remains discovered in Tolka Valley Park, Finglas, Co Dublin, are those of his sister.
Gardai have also brought in an anthropologist to help them identify the woman, who is thought to have been dead for around three to five years, and the circumstances surrounding her death.
