Family say final goodbye to murder victim Marioara
THE family of murdered Romanian teenager Marioara Rostas decided to view her skeletal remains so they could say their final goodbye.
Members of the Roma girl's extended family -- including her mother Marioara, father Bumitru and her two brothers -- returned to Ireland last Sunday and they viewed her remains at a funeral home in Dublin's south side.
The 18-year-old's body was discovered in a shallow grave at Kippure near Manor Kilbride, Co Wicklow, over two weeks ago. Her body was discovered in the foetal position wrapped in a plastic bag.
Her teeth had been ripped out, while a post-mortem examination confirmed Marioara died from a gunshot wound. She vanished while begging on a central Dublin street just three weeks after arriving in Ireland in 2008.
Days before her death she was held prisoner by a psychopathic criminal in a three-storey terraced house on Brabazon Street in the Coombe, Dublin, where she was believed to have been raped by her captors.
Her funeral will take place in Romania next Thursday.
