A RINGMASTER, clowns and a lion tamer are unusual guests for a baby blessing, but six-week-old Isabella Gerbola does not do things by half.

If arriving into the world in the early hours of New Year's day in her daddy's 4x4 wasn't excitement enough, yesterday Isabella's parents, Tara and Michael, invited friends and family to "roll up" for her first official engagement: her blessing in the family's big top.

Former trapeze artist Tara gave birth to Isabella in a 4x4 on a roadside in Blanchardstown, Dublin, at 3.13am on January 1.

She and Michael, who run Circus Gerbola, were driving to the Coombe Hospital when things began to move a lot faster than planned.

Tara said they planned to hold the christening in the tent in Fairgreen, Naas, Kildare, but Fr Michael Ross preferred to do just a blessing in the tent and the christening in a church in Naas.

Isabella was joined by her brothers Blake (6), Mick (4) and family and friends.
