Family critical of HSE
Q THE family of Savita Halappanavar has hit out at the Health Service Executive for publishing the final report into her death before they could be briefed.
Ms Halappanavar's family in India said it had been "distressing" to discover the report was in the public domain while her husband Praveen was away. Speaking from India, Savita's brother, Santosh Yalagi, said it was "upsetting" that it was issued before they had the opportunity to speak to Praveen and be briefed on its findings.
"We were not aware that this was happening. We had not been told that this would be released today. We know nothing of what is in the report, we will have to wait and see," he said.
