Families in UK adoption cases face forced return

THE Government will take legal action in a bid to force British families living here to return to the UK where their children are the subject of forced adoption orders.

In some of the cases being pursued by the UK authorities, parents have already had children who were put in care or adopted and are now being pursued to give up other children.

In one case, parents have moved their children to live with Irish relatives and are attempting to have them adopted by those relatives here.

"For a variety of reasons, more than 30 families have moved here to side-step the British system and local authorities have asked the HSE to intervene.

"The HSE has taken a decision to take one family to court in a bid to set a legal precedent, which would see children returned to England," a source said.
