WORKERS at a frozen-food factory ended their hunger strike yesterday after reaching a compromise with bosses over the sacking of three men, writes Brian Hutton.
Union leaders said they hammered out a confidential agreement with Green Isle Foods in overnight talks.
It is believed both sides negotiated compensation for three men dismissed from the company's plant in Naas, Co Kildare, last July for alleged breaches of the company's IT policy. Green Isle and the Technical Engineering and Electrical Union said both parties agreed to proposals from independent mediators.
