Fab four give Santa their wishlist

Eimear Ni Bhraonain

SANTA Claus must have thought he was seeing quadruple when he met 'Carlow's fantastic four'.

Four-year-old quads Robbie, Jamie, Lillie and Johnny Maher, from Ballon, had a word in the big man's ear yesterday.

The foursome had the chance to tell Santa their wishlist for December 25.

Robbie asked for a forklift. "He's always in the workshop with his daddy and he loves being outside," said their mother Mary.

Jamie -- the smallest surviving quad in Europe -- wants a fire engine. His brother Johnny hopes Santa brings him a guitar.

Lillie -- the "boss" in the family -- asked for a beauty box. She likes dressing up.

"We're really looking forward to Christmas this year," said Mary. "They did the Christmas tree themselves and did a really great job."

The Maher children are Carlow's only set of quads since records began. When the tiny tots arrived into the world on October 22, 2006, they weighed just over one pound each.
