A JUDGE will give his decision on March 18 whether to extradite journalist Ian Bailey to France.
Mr Bailey (53) is wanted there in connection with the killing of French filmmaker Sophie Toscan du Plantier in west Cork 14 years ago.
Mr Bailey, of The Prairie, Schull, Co Cork, was in the High Court yesterday when Mr Justice Michael Peart heard final legal submissions on the extradition proceedings.
He has always denied any involvement in the killing of Ms Toscan du Plantier (39), whose body was discovered near her holiday home in Schull on December 23, 1996.
Mr Bailey was arrested by gardai investigating the killing. He was never charged.
Mr Bailey's lawyer, Ronan Munro, said yesterday it was not permissible to send Mr Bailey to France "just to ask him some questions".
