Explosive device thrown into family home in Co Kildare

An explosive device was thrown through the window of a house in Co Kildare last night but nobody was injured and no damage was done in the attack.

Gardai evacuated the home at Broadford and two neighbouring houses after the incident at 10.50pm.



The Army EOD attended the scene and took possession of the suspect improvised explosive device for technical examination.



Gardai at Lexlip are investigating the incident and have appealed for witnesses to contact them at 01 666 7800.
