Ex-night editor dies aged 85
AUSTIN Walsh, a former night editor with the Irish Independent and crossword compiler, has died.
Mr Walsh (85), from Clondalkin in Dublin, was in good health until recently and passed away at Tallaght Hospital in Dublin yesterday.
He worked at the Irish Independent for 40 years.
Following his retirement, Mr Walsh compiled the crossword for the newspaper for many years.
He is survived by his sons, John and Adrian. His wife, May, died three years ago.
