Trees for Primary Schools 2013

The Native Woodland Trust is giving 30 native trees to every primary school nationwide.

Proudly supported by the Irish Independent and KPMG, ‘Trees for Primary Schools’ is a fantastic project and a great opportunity for schools to create their very own woodland within the school grounds or within their local community.

Creating an ‘outdoor classroom’ is a valuable addition for any school. It will help students become more green aware and provides them with an appreciation of the natural world.

Schools can choose from three different tree species*:

1. Large trees - Oak, Ash, Alder, Birch, Hawthorn, Blackthorn, Spindle, Hazel.

2. Small trees - Willow, Rowan, Hawthorn, Blackthorn, Spindle, Hazel.

3. Hedgerow - Hawthorn, Blackthorn, Holly, Guelder Rose, Spindle, Hazel.
