Gillian Fitzgerald from Clonmel was 'very proud' to see her daughter dancing with Kylie during the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games.

Majella Louise Fitzgerald (24) is from Clonmel in Co. Tipperary, and has been dancing professionally for four years. She started her professional dancing career in the 'On Your Toes' Dancing Academy in the town.

She moved to Leicester four years ago to purse her dream and continued her training in the Leicester Performance Academy (LCPA) before moving to London full-time.

Speaking to Independent.ie, Kylie's proud mother said that dancing in the ceremony was a dream but it wasn't easy. "She said it's one of the best gigs she's ever done.. it was tough going though. There were six costume changes alone".

"They all got on great, all went out together afterward, you know yourself".

"It's great to see someone from such a small town on the big stage".

However, it's not the first time Majella Louise has danced on the big stage.

"She started three years ago and one of her first gigs was dancing with Kylie".

"She danced the Olympics opening ceremony two years ago, and she's been on the X-Factor a few times. She's flying it now, thank God!"
