Emergency services battle early morning blaze in city centre

Emergency services attended a fire on the south side of Dublin city this morning.

Dublin Fire Brigade were on the scene at Fumbally Lane, off New Street in Dublin 8 just after 6am.

A spokesperson for Dublin Fire Brigade told Independent.ie a crew attended the derelict building with three units and an extendable turntable ladder.

The fire was brought under control within the hour.

There were no reports of injuries.

There were reports of large plumes of black smoke in the area and AA Roadwatch are reporting visibility may be affected.
