Ardee area:

6 seats.

Tallies suggest that Sinn Fein will take 2 of them and FF and FG will take one each. The other two are close to call.

Drogheda area:

10 seats.

Tallies suggest SF will take 2, Labour 1, FF, and FG should take one. It appears that Fine Gael may have split the vote by running too many candidates.  Labour may also retain a second seat. Early days yet.

Dundalk- Carlingford:

6 seats.

Sinn Fein look set to take 3 seats, FF 1, FG 1 and the Greens 1. FG  may take a second seat at the expense of the Greens - these are only tallies of 1st preference votes and not transfers.

Dundalk South:

7 seats.

SF will take 2 seats, Independent Meave Yore will take one, FF should keep a seat and then it is close to call with SF Jennifer Green likely to take a 3rd seat for the party. However Marianne Butler of the Greens and Maria Butler of FG could also make up ground.

Overall:

It appears that SF will be the largest party on the new 29 seat Louth county council for the first time.
