Louth County Council: Update
SUMMARY of of the new Louth County Council following the first count.
Sinn Fein topped the poll in the first counts in three of the four electoral areas in Louth. In Drogheda Imelda Munster had nearly double the quota of 1262.
Sinn Fein ran 11 candidates across the county and appear on target to have them all elected.
Labour will retain its two seats – both in the Drogheda area. Indeed Paul Bell (Lab) who topped the poll in Drogheda 5 years ago was also elected on the first count alongside Munster.
Overall Fianna Fail should gain a seat but Fine Gael may not maintain its 7 seats. The Greens should hold onto their only seat and the Independents appear on target to make gains.
