Kildare County Council: Update

Two long standing Fianna Fail women, Fiona O’Loughlin and Suzanne Doyle were elected on the first count in the Newbridge District, at 11pm this evening.

Their achievement is all the more remarkable in this most crowded of Districts - with 21 candidates and only nine seats.

Newcomers Fiona McLoughlin Healy (FG), Mark Lynch (SF) and Joanne Pender (Ind) look set to join veteran Paddy Kennedy (Ind) and former TD Sean Power (FF).

After that Mark Stafford (FG) should take a seat for the first time and ‘Spike’ Nolan (FG) and Damian Molyneux (SF) will likely fight it out for the last seat.
