Noel Connell got significant votes in own home area in Mountnugent, in one box in St Clare's in Ballyjamesduff, and one in Mullagh too, where otherwise the local cllrs there,
Paddy Smith FG and Shane P O'Reilly FF cleaned up.
If the tallies are correct Noel Connell looks like he will be among the first elected to the new Council in Cavan.
The predicted swing from 2009 is 2 per cent in favour of FF, FG down over 4 per cent and SF up more than 11 per cent thanks to Noel Connell
Electorate looks like 9651with the quota looking like it will be around the 1380 mark
In Cavan-Belturbet Damien Brady has earned votes across the electoral area, as has John Paul Feeley.
The predicted swing looks like it will be FF up 0.9 per cent, FG down almost 8, and again SF up more than 11 per cent. The independent vote in the area looks set to fall by almost 6 per cent
