GAA boss sets a political goal
A GAA manager is seeking to run for Fine Gael in the general election. Louth manager Peter Fitzpatrick guided Louth to its first provincial final in 50 years last July.
And the 48-year-old father of three feels that he can bring "the same sense of pride" to the political arena.
Mr Fitzpatrick is one of eight seeking selection at the party convention this Thursday in the Louth/East Meath constituency.
