Renua pledge to restore town councils

Renua Ireland Senator Paul Bradford has said restoring town councils is a red line issue for his party ahead of the upcoming general election.
The sentor, elected from the agricultural panel, criticised the move to axe the local authorities in a statement yesterday calling it one of the "most regressive measures of the last coalition."
"This may seem a minor issue in Dublin. But in rural Ireland it is a matter real matter of importance and source of genuine anger," Mr Bradford said.
"Returning power and control to local communities over their lives is a red line principle for Renua Ireland."
