Anti-Austerity Alliance's Ruth Coppinger has said that Taoiseach Enda Kenny ensured Fine Gael will have a short campaign to suit themselves.
Ms Coppinger was speaking at the start of their General Election campaign opposite Leinster House this morning.
“Well we're off on our own bicycles because we're off in our own constituencies. It's a really short election campaign and deliberately so by Enda Kenny,” Ms Coppinger said.
“We rely on going to doors meeting people and getting the message out. They rely on money and media. This type of campaign suits them.
“I'm confident that people are seeing their share of the recovery. Look at Bernie Saunders in the US almost beating Hilary Clinton in the early stages, we need the same here. We need political revolution here against the billionaires.
Ms Coppinger was joined by her colleague Richard Boyd-Barrett who said he was looking forward to the campaign.
“It's great to get out of this place and really people to find out what's actually happening. You don't actually find out what's happening in Leinster House,” he said.
“The choice is clear vote for fairness and solidarity or vote for and establishment of broken promises.”
