Keeping it in the family? Danny Healy-Rae to run alongside brother in Kerry

The Healy-Rae dynasty are to run a second candidate in Kerry.
Danny Healy-Rae has confirmed to independent.ie that he is to run alongside his brother Michael.
Taking two seats in the five seat constituency would be a major coup for the brothers.
Their father Jackie was elected to the Dáil for Kerry South in 1997 and famously did a deal with then Taoiseach Bertie Ahern to support the Fianna Fail government.
Michael took over in 2011 and is a strong favourite to retain his seat.
However, Danny told independent.ie that they believe they could even take two seats.
“We feel that given the excellent service Michael and my father gave to Kerry South the time is right, with the constituency being doubled, to represent the complete county,” he said.
“We are not running for fun. This is a serious task,” he said.
