Fine Gael is now at 30pc while support for its Coalition partner Labour Party remains unchanged at 8pc.

The poll results still leave the current government a long way off the number of seats necessary to return to power.

Fianna Fail also remains unchanged at 18pc, while Sinn Fein’s support has plummeted four points to 16pc, according to the Sunday Business Post/Red C poll

Support for smaller parties and Independents continues to surge and is up another two points to 28pc.
