With Enda Kenny set to fire the starting gun on Election 2016 any day now, Independent.ie is launching a brand new political podcast.
‘The Floating Voter’, hosted by INM’s Group Political Editor Kevin Doyle, will cut through the political soundbites, ignore the spin and burst some of the bubble that surrounds Leinster House.
Our correspondents Niall O’Connor and Philip Ryan will spill the beans on what really happens behind the scenes and cast a cold eye over the headlines as the Election Day gets closer.
We’ll also look at what is igniting the conversation online and ask what’s more important: the policies, the personalities or the parish pump?
In this first episode, the panel discuss whether FAI boss John Delaney crossed the line by endorsing Environment Minister Alan Kelly.
With Tánaiste Joan Burton facing a no confidence motion over her appointment of former trade union boss David Begg to a State board, we’ll ask is it the biggest mistake she has made since becoming Labour Party leader?
Plus, there’s the crisis in justice after reports that GSOC is accessing the phone records of journalists.
The Floating Voter is available every Tuesday and Friday and can be listened to on Soundcloud, iTunes, Stitcher and Independent.ie
