Angry teen tells Tánaiste Joan Burton to shove water bill 'up her fiscal space'

Tánaiste Joan Burton’s day just keeps getting better – after a leaked poll shows support for the party hovering around 4pc, a particularly angry punter decided to tell the Labour leader were she could stick her water bills.

One day on from when Mary Lou McDonald got on the wrong side of a bystander while out campaigning in Dublin, Deputy Burton got the same treatment in Kilkenny.

While stopping to take a selfie with a young teen and explain to him why this year’s budget benefited most people, Ms Burton was given an earful when the topic of water-charges came up.

Following the explanation, the teenager angrily told the Labour leader to shove her water bills “up her fiscal space.”

“My father is working class and he is struggling to pay his rent…” he continued as Ms Burton walked away.

“Yeah, run from your problems like you always do… and shove your water bills up your fiscal space!”

The 15-year-old from Kilkenny is a Sinn Fein supporter, and his intervention came after Mary Lou McDonal was heckled by a businessman in Dublin yesterday.
