Hi °C | Lo °C AN elderly woman is recovering at home after a burglar forced his way into her house.
The break-in occurred at 6pm yesterday at a house in St Bridget’s Place, Tullamore, Co Offaly when a man broke in and threatened her. He then stole a sum of money.
The man fled the scene when the woman’s daughter returned to the house. Neither woman was injured in the incident.
Gardai arrested a man in his twenties a short time later in Tullamore. He is being held at Tullamore Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
