Elderly pedestrian seriously injured after he is struck by car outside shopping centre

Gardai are appealing for witnesses after an elderly man was struck by a car this morning in a Dublin suburb.

The incident involving the 75-year-old man occurred at approximately 11.30am at the entrance to Rathfarnham Shopping Centre.

The seriously injured man was taken to Tallaght Hospital by ambulance and is now described as being in a stable condition.

The driver of the car was uninjured in the incident.

Gardai are investigating the incident and have appealed for witnesses to the collision.

They are appealing in particular to a number of people who helped both the injured pedestrian and the driver of the car at the scene.
