A NEW television service starting at €10 a month is expected to spark a price war as communications providers battle to sign up customers for multiple services.
The new TV package from Eircom, which launches to 450,000 homes today on Eircom's fibre broadband network, will offer up to 100 channels.
It is aimed at transforming Eircom into the country's first so-called 'quadplay' operator of phone, mobile, broadband and television.
It will directly challenge services already offered to thousands of customers by Sky and UPC.
It is expected it will spark a battle for customers between the rival operators, as UPC and Sky have both recently invested in additional broadband services.
