Egg attack on Gilmore's car cost €9 to clean

A PROTESTER accused of throwing eggs at Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore's ministerial car caused no damage -- although the car had to be cleaned at a cost of €9, a court has heard.

Protester Donall O Ceallaigh (28), of Harold's Cross Road, Dublin 6, was charged with criminal damage to a 5-Series BMW and breach of the peace.

Mr O Ceallaigh was ordered to appear again next week when he is to enter pleas to the charges.
