Two puzzles on core subject

IT was slightly out of season but teacher Helen Spruhan thought higher level candidates would have warmed to a question about bobbing for apples.

One part of the question was why do apples float in water, while candidates also had to describe an experiment to measure the density of an apple.

Ms Spruhan, of St Mary's CBS, Enniscorthy and the ASTI said it was nice to see questions linked to everyday life. She said the higher and ordinary papers were similar to previous years.
