Leaving Cert: 'Great choice' of questions for students in 'well-balanced' Higher Business paper
Leaving Certificate Business Higher Level students had a “great choice” of “fair and well balanced” questions, according to teacher, Arthur Russell of Dublin’s Institute of Education.
He described the short questions as “ fair, topical and accessible”, covering issues such as the PAYE tax system and exchange rates.
The Section 2, applied business question was “ very user friendly and approachable, with nothing unexpected”..
Mr Russell said the Section 3 question on employment discrimination was “ interesting and timely” although the part that asked students to evaluate the role of the Director of the Equality Tribunal might have been a bit challenging for some students.
He also thought the Section 3 question asking students to describe one characteristic of each stage of the product life cycle with reference to a product of their choice, might have been tricky for some students.
But Q6 was “lovely” and Q7 which focused on the marketing mix, public relations and market segmentation was “nice and open”
