I applied to UCAS. What happens now?

UCAS applicants may be holding one or two offers at this point, or waiting for Clearing, a process by which unfilled places are made available for application.

If a student has been made a conditional offer from UCAS , that is, offered a place with the condition that they achieve certain grades in the Leaving Cert., they should contact the institution and let them know their grades.

As there is more flexibility in the UCAS system than in the CAO, it is also worth letting institutions know if a student has done better than expected or if they fall slightly short of the required grades
