With most of the marks already accounted for in project work, Junior Certificate Materials Technology (Wood) wrapped up assessment yesterday with "nicely pitched" papers at both levels, according to one teacher.

Noel Scott of the Association of Secondary Teachers' Ireland said the higher-level paper was student friendly.

Mr Scott, of Loreto Community School, Milford, Co Donegal, said it was interesting, engaging with well grounded and practical applications.

At ordinary level, the language was very accessible, and the paper included an interesting question on designing a wood wallet, he said.
