WATCH: Lighting candles and pens from Lourdes - What good luck charms are Leaving Certificate students using this year?
Did you have a 'good luck' charm or light a few candles ahead of your own exams?
There were plenty of lucky necklaces, socks and blessed cards in exam halls this morning, according to some students of Dublin's Institute of Education.
Speaking to Independent.ie ahead of the exams, Glasnevin student Muiris Ó'Murchadha said he had a few charms to help him face English Paper One.
"I have my cross and I also have my Nanny's prayer in my bag as well. Hopefully it all goes well," he said.
One student who is not buying into any superstitions in Hugh O'Keeffe, who said he has put the work in and that should hopefully see him do well.
"I don't really think there's a matter of luck. You gotta just keep focusing and keep studying hard. That's about it," he said.
"My Mum has a little prayer thing that I put in my bag. Nothing other than that."
Rathmines local Isabelle Cahill was not only thinking about herself, but also tried to get some extra luck for her classmates.
"I went to church and lit a candle for some extra luck," she told Independent.ie.

We hope she said a prayer for her classmate Barbara Mullins, who forgot her own good luck charm.
"I'm repeating, so two years ago I went to Lourdes and got a good luck pen to use, but I forgot it.
"Maybe that's why I'm repeating," she joked.
