Both the Association of Secondary Teachers (ASTI) and the Teachers' Union of Ireland (TUI) have voted to reject the Lansdowne Road Agreement proposals.

The ASTI margin was 74-26 against, while TUI members voted 92-8 against on a 60pc turnout.

ASTI president Máire G. Ní Chiarba said the agreement did not address the key concerns of teachers.

With a turnout of 31.5pc, it means that fewer than one in three of ASTI members voted.
