Firefighters were tackling a blaze at a popular Dublin hotel today.
The fire is believed to have started in a third-floor bedroom at Tara Towers, on the Merrion Road near Ballsbridge.
At least seven fire appliances have been called to the scene.
District fire officer Jim Sargent said crews initially fought the blaze from the hallway using the hotel's own units before tackling it from the outside.
"When we arrived we were still unsure whether people were missing or not so we extinguished the fire quickly and we carried out a full search of the building," he said.
"I think 90 of the 111 rooms were occupied, but during the day people go out shopping and do things so it's difficult to get a full count so we searched the whole building."
Mr Sargent said gardai were investigating the cause of the blaze.
"The fire was confined to one bedroom on the third floor but there is quite an amount of smoke damage in the building, mainly to the third floor and the fourth floor," he said.
There were no injuries, according to the fire officer.
More than 40 firefighters in total, with one hydraulic platform, a turntable ladder, emergency tender and incident command unit were used to extinguish the blaze.
