A Dublin Bus driver has recalled his favourite festive memory of seeing a young couple's love blossom while on the bus.

A year later, the same bus driver was driving a wedding bus, only to discover it was the same couple he had spotted on his bus.

As the Nitelink services resume on Thursday December 15, bus drivers have shared their favourite festive memories.

One driver told how a customer who was very late getting organised for the festive season trying to convince him to allow him bring a Christmas tree home on the bus one Christmas Eve.

The drivers said they often hear sing-songs with Fairytale of New York and Driving Home for Christmas the most popular songs.

When it comes to the most random things left on a Nitelink bus, Christmas hats and jumpers are the most common items as well as wrapping paper. One customer even left their tinsel-covered crutch behind.
