Driver dies in as car hits wall on country road

A 24-YEAR-old man has died following a single-vehicle road crash in Co Limerick.

Gardai in Abbeyfeale are investigating the incident, which took place at Killaculleen Templeglantine at about 4pm yesterday.

The collision occurred on the R515 about 6.5km outside Abbeyfeale when a car collided with a wall.

The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to Limerick Regional Hospital.

The road was closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination but has since re-opened.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact the gardai at Abbeyfeale on 068 30010, the garda confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
